Invoice names and number series

Service, Sales, Billing or plain Invoice, and when each name needs its own series.

Updated Nov 8, 2026

RMC 77-2024 lets you describe your invoice, as long as the word INVOICE is printed larger:

  • Service Invoice: for services.
  • Sales Invoice: for goods.
  • Billing Invoice: use it instead of a billing statement or statement of account.
  • Invoice: for goods or services.

Choose yours in Invoice Format. Only the names you tick appear when you create an invoice.

One series or one per name

If you use more than one invoice name, each needs its own serial numbers. Choose A separate series for each invoice name:

  1. One name keeps your current series. Leave its prefix blank.
  2. Give each other name a new Prefix (for example BI for Billing Invoice) and its Next no.
  3. Click Save. The new series is created.
  4. Enter each series' Approved from / to as registered. It prints at the bottom of that invoice.

Register every series with your RDO before you use it.

Locked numbers

Once a series exists, its prefix and next number are locked. Issued numbers are never changed, skipped or reused. A prefix used by another series is refused, so numbers never repeat.

GodoERP warns you on a draft invoice when the next number is past your approved series.
