Correct a bill or expense safely
Review the supported void process instead of duplicating or deleting financial records.
If a supplier bill or expense was entered incorrectly, first open the original record and inspect its status. GodoERP provides void actions for bills and expenses, but the available action may depend on permissions and the transaction's state.
Before correcting a record
- Compare the record with the original supplier document or receipt.
- Check whether a payment has already been recorded.
- Check whether the transaction belongs to a closed accounting period.
- Keep a note explaining the reason for the correction.
Use the available void action
- Open the original bill or expense.
- If the record is eligible and the Void action is shown, follow the confirmation prompt.
- Review the resulting status and relevant balances.
- Re-enter a corrected transaction only when appropriate and in line with your company's accounting process.
Important: Do not void a paid bill or a transaction in a closed period without confirming the consequences with your accountant or administrator. Never create duplicate records just to compensate for an incorrect posting.
