Issue a credit note (returns, discounts, overcharges)
Reduce what a customer owes on an issued invoice without changing the original.
A credit note reduces an issued invoice, for example for a return, a later discount or an overcharge. The original invoice stays unchanged. The credit note is a separate record that can be audited.
Where: Income › Credit Notes › New Credit Note, or Credit Note on the invoice page.
Steps
- Service Invoice: choose the issued invoice. GodoERP shows the maximum credit still available.
- Credit Note Date and Credit Amount.
- Description: the reason, for example Returned 2 units or Agreed 10% discount.
- Click Post Credit Note.
GodoERP reverses the sales revenue and, when applicable, the output VAT, and reduces what the customer owes. The invoice page then shows Credit Notes and the Balance After Credits.
Print or void
On the credit note: Print Credit Memo, Download PDF, or Void Credit Note if it was a mistake.
Tip: VAT returns automatically use your sales net of credit notes.
