Connect PayMongo step by step (API keys and webhook)

Get your PayMongo API keys, connect them in GodoERP, add the webhook, and test a payment before going live.

Updated Nov 1, 2026

PayMongo lets your clients pay invoices with GCash, Maya, cards, online banking and QR Ph. The money goes to your own PayMongo account, then to your bank. GodoERP only records it. Connecting PayMongo needs the Business plan.

Before you start: sign up at paymongo.com. You can test right away. To receive real payments, finish PayMongo's account activation (business details and documents). Only the PayMongo Account Owner or Admin can see the API keys.

1. Copy your test keys

  1. Sign in to the PayMongo dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings › Product Settings › Developers (the Developers page).
  3. Test keys are shown first. Copy the public key (starts with pk_test_) and the secret key (starts with sk_test_).

Important: The secret key is like a password to your PayMongo account. Paste it only into GodoERP. Never send it by chat or email.

2. Connect it in GodoERP

  1. Go to Settings › Online payments.
  2. Tick Turn on online payments.
  3. Under GCash, Maya and cards, choose PayMongo.
  4. Paste the PayMongo public key and the Secret key.
  5. Tick what clients can use: GCash, Maya, Visa / Mastercard, Online banking, QR Ph. Only tick methods that are also active in your PayMongo account.
  6. Enter your authenticator code (or your password if you have no authenticator yet) and click Save settings.

GodoERP tests the key right away. You should see Connected to PayMongo · Test mode.

3. Add the webhook

The webhook lets PayMongo tell GodoERP about a payment even if your client closes the page before returning.

  1. In GodoERP, copy the Webhook address shown on Settings › Online payments. It looks like https://yourcompany.godoerp.com/api/pay/webhook/paymongo.
  2. In the PayMongo dashboard, open Developer Tools › Webhooks and add a new endpoint.
  3. Paste the address and select the event checkout_session.payment.paid. Save.
  4. PayMongo then shows the endpoint's secret key. Copy it.
  5. Back in GodoERP, paste it in Webhook signing secret, enter your authenticator code, and click Save settings.

Webhooks are separate for test and live mode. Add one again when you switch to live keys.

4. Test a payment

  1. Issue a small invoice to yourself (a test customer with your email).
  2. On the invoice, click Preview in the Online payment box, choose GCash and click Pay.
  3. On PayMongo's test page, approve the test payment.
  4. You should land on Payment received. Open the invoice: it is Paid, and Online payment activity shows Paid · recorded.
  5. Check Banking: a PayMongo clearing account now holds the payment, and the fee is under Payment gateway fees.

5. Go live

  1. In the PayMongo dashboard, switch to live data and copy the live keys (pk_live_…, sk_live_…).
  2. Paste them in Settings › Online payments and save. GodoERP shows Live mode.
  3. Add a live webhook (step 3 again) and save its secret key.
  4. Pay a small real invoice yourself (for example ₱20 by GCash) before telling clients.
