Understanding the payslip
What every line on the payslip means, from basic pay to employer contributions and year-to-date totals.
Open a payslip from the payroll period (Payslip on each row). You can Print it or Download PDF. Employees with portal access see theirs in the Employee Portal.
Time summary (this cutoff)
Days worked, paid leave and absences; late, undertime and overbreak minutes; overtime and night differential hours.
Earnings
- Basic Pay (this cutoff), less absences and less late, undertime and overbreak, gives Regular Pay
- Overtime Pay, Night Differential, Holiday Pay and Paid Leave
- Gross Pay
Deductions
SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, Withholding Tax, Loan / Cash Advance Deduction, then Total Deductions and Net Pay.
If an employee's pay this period wasn't enough to cover their statutory contributions, the payslip says so. The company still remits the full amount, and the shortfall is deducted from a future payslip.
Employer contributions
What the company pays on the employee's behalf, which is not deducted from their pay: SSS, SSS EC (and the MPF/WISP part), PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG.
Year to date
Gross pay, contributions, withholding tax, non-taxable de minimis and benefits (within the ₱90,000 ceiling), and net pay so far this year.
